A Brand New Year

On New Year’s Eve, I saw the movie Avatar with my parents and brother. The movie was interesting and exhilarating to watch. I saw the movie in 3D IMAX so I felt like I was in the movie. After the movie was over, we went out to eat at Max and Erma’s. We got home and waited for the ball in Times Square to drop. We wore New Year’s hats and had poppers and noisemakers. My parents anxiously watched the TV for the big moment with their champagne in fancy glasses while I had sparkling white grape juice. At first, the time went so quickly but as the last few minutes were coming to an end, the time went by slowly due to all the excitement in the room.
Then I heard “Five, four, three, two, one, Happy New Year!” and there was so much noise from all of the noisemakers. The poppers were all over the place, including on my dog. Everyone was screaming and taking sips of their drinks. Finally 2009 was over and here comes 2010!
Even though 2009 had some bad moments such as when the car industry had a few big budget and lay off hits or when the King of Pop died. Besides the negative, 2009 was had some good times too such as when I started high school or when I went on a terrific summer vacation in Cancun, Mexico for two weeks.
I am hoping 2010 will be an even better year. I am looking forward to new vacations and having exciting times with my family.
